Universal Prayer — Confirmation of [N.]

On this day when [N.] receives the gift of the Holy Spirit through Confirmation, let us pray to the Lord for these young confirmands and for the world.

1. For the Church

   That the Church, renewed by the Holy Spirit, may be bold in proclaiming the Gospel and welcoming to the younger generations. Lord, hear our prayer.

2. For the World

   For the youth of the world: that they may find the courage to commit themselves to justice and peace, guided by the Spirit of truth. Lord, hear our prayer.

3. For the Suffering

   For young people who suffer from loneliness, bullying, or despair; may the Comforting Spirit lift them up and heal them. Lord, hear our prayer.

4. For the Confirmands

   For [N.] who today receives the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. May these gifts accompany them throughout their life. Lord, hear our prayer.

God our Father, You sent Your Spirit upon the Apostles on the day of Pentecost. Pour out this same Spirit upon [N.] so that they may be Your witnesses to the ends of the earth. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
