Universal Prayer — First Communion Mass

Christ gives Himself to us in the Eucharist. Together with the children receiving Communion today, let us pray for the Church and for the world.

  1. Pour l'Église

    For the catechists and priests who prepare children to receive the Eucharist; may their dedication bear fruits of holiness. Lord, hear us.

  2. Pour le Monde

    That the sharing of the Bread may make us attentive to sharing with the poorest; may the Eucharist make us artisans of justice. Lord, hear us.

  3. Pour les Souffrants

    For children who suffer from loneliness, violence, or illness; may communion in the Body of Christ be a source of comfort for them. Lord, hear us.

  4. Pour [N.]

    For [N.] and their families: may this first Communion be the beginning of a lifelong friendship with Jesus, present in every Eucharist. Lord, hear us.

Lord Jesus, You said, "Let the little children come to Me." Welcome them to Your table and nourish them with Your love so that they may grow in holiness. You who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.
