Universal Prayer — Funeral (Charismatic Style)

The Lord is our shepherd; there is nothing we shall want. With confidence, let us pray together for [N.] and for those who bear the weight of sorrow.

1. For the Church

   Lord, grant Your Church the right words to console and a living faith to proclaim that death does not have the final word. We cry out to You, Lord!

2. For the World

   Father, look upon this world wounded by violence and injustice. May Your Spirit of peace touch hardened hearts and lift up those in despair. We cry out to You, Lord!

3. For the Bereaved

   Jesus, You who wept before the tomb of Lazarus, come and console the family and friends of [N.]. Dry their tears with the certainty of Your resurrection. We cry out to You, Lord!

   Holy Spirit, welcome [N.] into the light of the Father. May the prayers of those who love them accompany them to the fullness of eternal life. We cry out to You, Lord!

God of love, we give You thanks for the life of [N.]. Welcome them into Your Kingdom of light and transform our mourning into hope. Through Jesus, in the Holy Spirit. Amen!
